Men's Tennis Team dedicates season to Sackett White

We were all saddened by the news two weeks ago of the sudden, unexpected and tragic loss of Coach Bill White's older son, Sackett White.  Sackett was 27 years old and had attended Broughton.  Upon hearing of the loss of Sackett, the Tennis Team collected their new tennis jerseys and had Sackett's name printed on their sleeves to dedicate their season in his honor as a surprise tribute to Coach White.  On Monday, the team unveiled their new jerseys for an emotional gathering with Coach White.  On Tuesday, Coach White's wife Sally, daughter Lelia and sister -in- law Peggy, all came to the tennis match to show their appreciation.  It was a special time being with the White family.

There was a schedule mix up on Monday and Broughton did not play East Chapel Hill, but played a make-up match with Enloe.  Broughton beat Enloe and won all courts with a score of 9-0.  On Tuesday, Broughton hosted Sanderson and won 9-0.  Broughton is now 9-0 overall and 6-0 in the CAP-8 Conference with a very impressive 54-0 conference match record.

Broughton (# 3 State Rank) will host undefeated (#7 State Rank) Millbrook for 1st place in the CAP-8 conference at HOME this Thursday, March 24 at 3:30pm.  Should be some great high school tennis.
