Varsity Boy’s CapsLax Handle Millbrook Easily, 13 vs. 4

After a ragged first 10 minutes of play, Sonny Creech finally put a goal on Millbrook late in the 1st period. From that point on, this game was all Broughton. Mitchell Dupere went on to have a career night scoring 6 goals with most originating from out front of the goal rather than from behind. Also from the midfield, Dane Angell recorded 4 goals on the evening, tying a career high. It is always a fan favorite when a long pole scores—Ruffin Jones put one past the Millbrook goalie after a coast-to-coast defensive clear, bringing a roar from the crowd. Sam Cramer rounded out the goal scoring with Justin Moore and Michael Eades each recording one assist. Austin Johnston had another great game both in the cage and on defensive clears. Some of the clears pushed the ball forward quickly, leading to unsettled situations which resulted in easy transition goals--always fun to watch. And once again, the defense was dominant all evening lead by Harrison Black, Gray Johnson, Gray Gordon, Ruffin Jones, Kelton Jones, Rob Rader and others. Millbrook struggled all evening while on offensive thanks to another strong effort by the defense. Wilson Purcell and the other FoGo’s dominated all evening winning 2 out of every 3 faceoffs. A dominant team effort.
