Swimmers Break Records

At the State 4A Swimming and Diving Championships held this weekend, February 10 and 11, the Lady CAPS swimmers broke 2 long-standing school records.
Junior Kelsey Moore swam her 200 yard freestyle in a time of 1:51.96 breaking Emily Cowling's record which had stood since 1988. Kelsey took 4th place in the state in that event.
The women's 200 yard freestyle relay, which took 8th in the state, swam a time of 1:40.68 breaking the school record which had stood since 1996. Members of this record setting relay were Elisabeth Holmes, Rachel Shaw, Adaira Brewer, and Kelsey Moore. Kelsey also swam a great time of 5:02.03 in the 500 yard freestyle, taking 5th place in that event.
Sophomore Will Close was the only CAP to swim in the state meet on the men's side. He took 11th place in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 52.70.
Congratulations CAPs swimmers and divers on a great season.
