Tuesday evening, the Junior Varsity Women's Lacrosse team downed the Millbrook Wildcats, 12-1. The Lady Caps moved well and played good defense. Goalie, Lauren Cunningham, made 3 great saves. Amelia Rustin forcefully swatted out another shot on goal. Freshman, Kate Rice was on fire with 5 goals for the evening. Other stats: Ashley Andrews 2G; Sarah Carr Barnes 2G; Mary Mackey 1G; Kathleen Rigsbee 1G; Amelia Rustin 1G. Way to go Lady Caps!
The Varsity Women's Lacrosse team also decisively rolled past the Wildcats, 18-9. The first half was a story of cat and mouse as Broughton would score a couple of goals and the Wildcats would then answer. The Lady Caps took control in the second half, though, holding the Wildcats to just 1 goal for most of a very physical second half. Kelsey Dupere led Broughton with 6G and 1A; Sydney Fry 3G; Madeline Crone 2G; Anna Winstead 2G; Harris Parker 1G, 1A; Grace Drescher 1G; Mary Neil Hodl 1G; Sara Joyner 1G; Hattie Warner 1G; Goalie Olivia Joyner-3 saves.
Both Lady CapsLax teams are in play on Thursday at Athens 5:00pm/ 6:30pm.
All ladies are playing Varsity this Friday at 6:00pm as they go to Leesville to take on the Pride.
