Soccer: Caps Dominate in Win Over Enloe

The Caps overwhelmed the visiting Enloe Eagles Wednesday night, winning 4-0 for their second consecutive conference victory.

Matt Brickhouse
Broughton controlled the possession for much of the first half and put constant pressure on the Enloe defense, finally breaking through with a goal by Matt Brickhouse a little more than midway through the half. Chris Vlahoplus assisted.

About five minutes later, the Caps' Ike Drooz caught Enloe's keeper flat-footed with a shot from about 25 yards out. Broughton took a 2-0 lead into halftime.

Broughton continued to pressure Enloe in the second half, and the Caps' Yusef Mohamud fired a shot into the back of the net for the team's third goal. Ben Youngblood assisted.

Only then did Enloe manage to apply some pressure on Broughton, with keeper Trey Morton having to make a save about 11 minutes into the second half.

Brooks Nichols
But Broughton came roaring back, with Vlahoplus sending a pass ahead to Brickhouse, who followed up his own shot after it bounced off the Enloe keeper to score his second goal of the night and Broughton's fourth goal.

Following the lead of defender Brooks Nichols and Morton, Broughton held on for its first shutout of the season.

Earlier, the junior varsity team lost 0-3 to Enloe.
