Soccer: Caps Score Late in OT Win at Enloe

Thanks to two late goals by Rosendo Sierra-Flores, Broughton escaped Enloe with a 2-0 win in overtime on Monday night.

Rosendo Sierra-Flores
Broughton controlled possession of the ball throughout the game, but Enloe's defenders hung tough on senior night for the Eagles. The Caps had multiple scoring opportunities, but sailed balls just wide or high or directly at the Enloe keeper.

With no goals in regulation, Broughton faced its second consecutive overtime game. The Caps' Matt Brickhouse just missed on a shot in the first overtime period, while keeper Trey Morton kept the score tied at zero when he made a great save near the end of the first overtime period.

Doh Gay
Broughton continued to attack in the second overtime period, with Sierra-Flores finally sliding a pass from the Caps' Doh Gay past the Enloe keeper and just inside the far post. Sierra-Flores sealed the win with less than a minute remaining in the game when he scored off a corner kick. Ibrahim Mohamud assisted on the goal.

Earlier, the junior varsity team defeated Enloe 3-1. Sheenaymu "C" Gay scored twice for Broughton, both times off of assists by Bryant O'Neal. Cameron Champion scored the other goal for the Caps, with an assist by Jacob McCaslin.

Broughton finishes off the Cap 8 regular season with a home game Wednesday night against Heritage. Come out to cheer on the Caps as they head into post-season play and help us say thanks to the team's seniors on Senior Night. Go Caps!
