CAPS DROP CAP 8 CONTEST TO CONFERENCE LEADER MILLBROOK
Broughton's women's soccer team traveled to Cap 8 leading Millbrook High School Wednesday night for an important conference contest.  After 40 minutes of play neither side could find the back of the net, thanks to several spectacular saves by junior goal keeper Allie Cutler, and went into the halftime break knotted 0-0.  Much of the first half battle centered on control of the midfield.  The Caps brought a lot of energy into the second half and in the 50th minute, after an exhibition of "the beautiful game" in the attacking third, sophomore Lily Schneider collected her second goal of the season and put the Caps up 1-0.  The Wildcats continued to press the Caps defensive back line and found the equalizer in the 62nd minute.  The sides continued the hard-fought contest and in the 77th minute Millbrook found the old onion bag again putting them ahead 2-1, a score that would hold until the final whistle.  The Caps return to action tonight when they visit the non-conference Garner High School Trojans and look for a victory to conclude the week or for Scotty McCreery (Taste of Country website's "Sexiest Male in Country Music") to sing the National Anthem or bring Bojangles.
