Broughton (12-0, 7-0) wrapped up the first half of conference play with a 25-13, 25-20, 25-9 win against visiting Sanderson (9-4, 4-3) on Thursday night. Katja Ehlers led the Caps offense with 18 kills (.625) and added 6 digs and 3 blocks. Kalee Vanderhorst collected 11 kills (.389), 4 aces and 7 digs and Tiana Butler chipped in 2kills, 4 aces, 3 blocks and 4 digs. Kati Smith recorded 28 assists, 2 kills, 3 aces and 9 digs and Grace Youngblood tallied 3 kills and a block. Alden Willis scooped up 5 digs and Holli Smith had 4 digs.
The Caps continue Cap-8 play on the road next week with matches at Wakefield and Enloe.
Broughton comes in at #46 in the latest PrepVolleyball.com National Top 100 Poll. J.H. Rose (45th) is the only other team from North Carolina to be ranked.
