Broughton (17-0, 12-0) clinched their third straight Cap-8 championship with a 25-18, 25-13, 25-17 win at Leesville Road (14-2, 10-2) on Tuesday night. Kalee Vanderhorst recorded a match-high 17 kills (.275) and 6 digs and Katja Ehler had her fourth double-double of the season with 10 kills (.231) and 12 digs. Kati Smith had her second double-double with 37 assists and 10 digs. Tiana Butler filled up the stat sheet with 6 kills (.333), a match-high 3 aces, 6 digs, 2 assists and 2 blocks. Grace Youngblood tallied 6 kills (.625) and 3 blocks and Rachel Byrd had 2 kills (.333) and 2 blocks. Holli Smith posted 10 digs and Alden Willis scooped up 9 digs and added 2 assists.
The Caps will honor their seniors (Tiana Butler, Rachel Byrd, Katja Ehlers, Kati Smith and Neely Whittington) prior to Thursday's final regular season home contest against Millbrook (4:30/5:30).
