Wiredu's Hat Trick Leads Caps Past Millbrook

The Instant Hat Trick, Elvis Wiredu, and the Three Clean Sheeters, Clay Oxford, Jack Nickens, and Benjamin McCord

After 11 minutes, the score of the men's soccer game at Millbrook was Elvis Wiredu 3, Millbrook 0. That's right, Wiredu pulled off a hat trick in the first 11 minutes of the match, two on breakaways and one off a header. The goals were assisted by Chris Gasga Candela, Esteban Salinas Noyola, and Ibrahim Mohamud.  After Wiredu's third goal, the game bogged down, with little action occurring. So little action, that there was nothing else really to report other than the three Broughton keepers, Clay Oxford, Jack Nickens, and Benjamin McCord, combined on the clean sheet.

With the win, Broughton moved into sole possession of first place in the Cap 8, a game ahead of Sanderson, whom they play on Monday, October 19th on the road. Tonight's match was the first of a brutal stretch: four consecutive road games. Head up to Sanderson and root on your Broughton Caps. Kickoff is at 6:30 PM.
