The
Broughton Girls’ lacrosse team began a full week of play with a 17-3 win over
Heritage at home on Senior night Wednesday.
Heritage
controlled tempo early, with a patient, disciplined offense. Broughton’s defense, led by goalie Carson
Harvey was unyielding, and after 17 minutes of play the Caps held a 2-1 lead. At that point, the Caps’ offense took over
with a 10-1 run, giving them a 12-2 lead at half.
The Caps
continued to score early in the second half.
The Caps
defense continued their strong play, allowing only one second half goal.
Margaret Anne Warner and Farrell Guest contributed four goals each for the
caps, and Hattie Warner had three. Also scoring were Sydney Russell, Leaha
Renee Burgess, EJ Fuller, Branch Henderson and Carol Seigler.
The Caps play again tonight at 6 at home against Leesville, and Friday night at Enloe.
Seniors Farrell Guest, Britt Warner, Hattie Warner, and Branch Henderson are recognized tonight for Senior Night.
