In a game shortened by lightening and the threat of severe weather, the Caps (10-3-1 / 4-2 in Cap8) put two goals away in the first half and saw that stick to defeat a tough Enloe team 2-1.
The Caps started off strong and after a string of chances - won a PK off of foul on Edson Candela-Perez - who then stepped up to beat the Enloe GK to put us up 1-0. Enloe equalized not soon after and it was then when Edson beat the two Enloe central defenders and slot it past the goalie to put the Caps up 2-1. Our defense, led by Jacob Hill and Max Varani, then shut down the remaining chances to give us the halftime - and what proved ultimately to be the final - lead.
The Caps finish off the first round of Cap 8 games against a very strong Heritage team on Monday at Broughton.
