Caps Mens Soccer Gets Back on Track 4-1

After a four game losing streak moved the Caps (8-4, 2-3) down the the #10 rank in the N&O, they righted the ship on Wednesday night defeating Sanderson 4-1.

Broughton got on the board early as Junior Andrew Rossetti fed Senior Ahmed Magoub with a nice pass and Ahmed beat the GK for a 1-0 lead.  The Caps struck again and this time Rossetti got the ball to Junior John White who beat his defender and then slotted one in the left corner to make it 2-0.  The Caps controlled the play the remainder of the half and the score remained 2-0.

The second half saw a bit of sloppiness by Broughton and that led to a goal for Sanderson 15 minutes into the second half. However, there was no panic on this night and Junior Ivey O'Brien came off the bench to provide a spark.  First, he stole the ball from Sanderson and played it to Andrew Rossetti who ripped one from 20 yards out into the top right corner to put the game away 3-1.  Not 5 minutes later, Ivey played a beautiful cross from the left side into Junior Lucas Beeson who headed it perfectly across the GK to finish the game 4-1 Caps.

It was a great team effort that saw all the field players get into the game and play well.

We only have one game this week on Monday, but it is a big one against Millbrook with the winner being 3-3 in the conference and the loser in a 2-4 hole.  Please come out and support the boys!!

Go Caps!
